Recently, I wanted to purchase the Workshop Service Manual for my 2014 Tohatsu 4-stroke outboard.
It was possible to purchase a hard-copy via a Tohatsu dealer, but the asking price was $160 – which I thought was a bit rich.
Only 2-stroke manuals came up on eBay – I enquired about a 4-stroke manual through one of the eBayers, but never heard back.
Eventually a Google search threw up this bloke:
He is based in Ontario, Canada, and has listings on eCrater, and a number of other overseas auction sites of which I had never heard. He does not list on eBay.
I contacted him through one of those sites, and turns out he was quite happy to sell direct.
Ordered the Tohatsu manual from him on CD (he also offered it as a download) and did a direct email Paypal transfer – cost the total princely sum of US$12.
The CD was posted from Canada on February 23, and arrived here in NE Vic on March 6.
The contents were exactly as described – the full 319-page Workshop Service Manual for the current model Tohatsu 4-stroke 25/30hp.
I notice that he has many other manuals relating to ouboards, ATV’s, bikes, ride-on mowers, and the like, and thought that other forum members might be interested.
He communicated well, his product was the real deal, his prices are reasonable, and delivery was prompt.
